Whimsical Home Decor With a “Foot” in Classics

I swear, it has nothing to do with the fact that this is Halloween month, but I’m spotting body parts everywhere. These designs fall somewhere between sculptural art and gothic fashion to add a fun surprise within the home.

Seletti gold skull

Skulls like this Seletti piece have been prevalent for a while. In fact, I’d say there we’ve run out of new ways to use them. Daring home decor pieces like this one can make quite a statement when incorporated properly and I often showcase my favorite skulls on instagram.

I said it’s hard to do something new with skulls. That is unless you try something like this pink, fuzzy Maison & Objet one.

I think I first picked up on this whimsical home decor trend during my time in Paris. There were body parts everywhere, even at the Louvre!

With so many choices, it was hard to decide which body part to invest in. There were so many sizes and styles, not to mention the endless ways to display them.

You can go pretty and functional like this Studio A hand planter.

Or you can embrace the unexpected nature and go a bit more whimsical. How do you or would you incorporate pieces like these in your home?
