11 Feb The Mix: Ceiling Accents to Envy, Part 3
A plain white ceiling can often stand out in an otherwise well appointed room. Why do so many people forget this 5th wall?
Did you know this post is part of a series? Make sure to view Part 1 and Part 2.
This edition of ceiling inspiration features decorative painting by Diane Williams of Art To Di For. We always appreciate her willingness to get up on a ladder to bring a vision to life. Remember, your ceiling can be a perfect and subtle spot to add special stand-out elements to a room.
Paisley Print
This paisley accent was chosen to pick up on the motifs in the ceiling medallion. It really sets off the medallion and makes it a central design element in the room. Imagine how it would blend in against the same shade of white.
Stenciled Tray Ceiling
A very simple stencil in a metallic paint highlights this tray ceiling. The pattern reinforces the patterns in the rest of the room without overwhelming the decor.
Vaulted Vines
This vaulted ceiling design plays off the powder room walls that were inspired by Dorothy Draper and the Greenbrier Hotel. Bright bouquets of flowers are growing around a kelly-green gazebo like trellis. It’s a perfect pop of fun in an otherwise classic and streamlined part of the home.
High Shine
This high gloss ceiling was painted by Barden’s Decorating. 4 layers of paint make the color really shine! Getting the “ice rink” smooth look is not as easy as it looks, so thanks to Barden’s for taking extra care in making this vision a reality.
