04 Jun our process: how we get to the big reveal part 3, Selecting the furnishings
We are taking the mystery out of the initial process of designing for our clients by sharing how we get started and keep them involved every step of the way. This is part 3, selecting the furnishings.
Once we choose the layout and flow for the room, it’s time to pick the furnishings. My relationships with craftsmen and suppliers enable me to find the right pieces for every style.
This is a room where we used three of our core suppliers. Our clients never need to worry because we call on resources we have longstanding relationships with. We know they deliver a quality product.
This more contemporary design was harder to source form our core vendors. We needed unique sizes so we went a far more custom route.
We wanted the back of the sofa to have biscuit tufting like this piece.
And we wanted a track arm, bench seat and tapered legs. We also needed the same sofa in 2 different sizes. With these ideas in my head, I was able to partner with the furniture company to design just the right piece.
The table needed to be light and airy. This metal end table had great lines that would work well with the pattern in the area rug.
However, I wanted the warmth and weight of wood in the base. I had Seth Woods of Seth Woods Furniture make it for me. Want something special crafted for you home? Contact me and we can chat about your unique style.
