At Market: The Snake Trend

Snakes… I have yet to find anyone who says they love them!  Why snakes?  Every now and then a motif will repeat from showroom to showroom at market.  I wonder who decided snakes were the next big thing? Just like we’re seeing python print all over shoes and bags this season, snake print is also slithering back into home trends.

Nesting Tables

Snake Print Nesting Table

This Bernhardt Wyman nesting table is covered in snakeskin. What an unexpected place for a fun print. I’m always a fan of nesting tables. They make it easy to entertain in small spaces.

Snakes on the walls

This Schumacher Giove print wallpaper features hand-drawn snakes in an elegant, mythical print. I’d use it in a small space. Are you brave enough to put snakes in the powder room?

These Michelle Nussbaumer X Addison Weeks drawer pulls are very Egyptian chic. Talk about an easy way to dress up a simple piece of furniture!

This Kravet Serpent Natural Linen fabric would look lovely on an ottoman or accent chair. The colors in the print would complement so many different color schemes from natural to bold.

Fuschia, velvet and python print? It doesn’t get more luxe than this Osborne & Little fabric. This would be so eye-catching in an elegant closet or ladies’ sitting room.

We can’t talk python without this famous photo of Natasha Kinski by Richard Avedon (source The Richard Avedon Foundation). I think I’ll keep my snakes in fabrics and textures and let her keep the live ones.
