a fresh curve: new twists on the arch trend
We have seen arches and curves just about everywhere this past year and, of course, we designers need to take it to another level. My 2024 coast to coast travels put me in front of some very new and very old arches. All, not so coincidentally, are in “luxury” hotels.
The Inn at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa Santa Monica was all about arches. The series of arches as you look down the hall added a great visual interest to what could have been a very long and dull corridor.
The ladies’ room had three arched mirrors that together formed one visual arch.
In Chicago I visited a kitchen and bath showroom called Normandy Remodeling. The arched doorways in one of their displays made me feel like a queen!
In Palm Beach at The Breakers I noticed the reverse arch mirror and the arch mirror detail.
A little further south in Fort Lauderdale at Dune I found another inspiring arch again in the ladies restroom.
