At Market: Maison et Objet and Paris
Travel can influence and transform a home’s perspective. You are taken out of your every day and put into an atmosphere that channels you back to that moment when you've witnessed a true wonder of the world. Adding an exhilarating focal point like your favorite hotel or restaurant will remind you of a different way of living that will nurture your need for adventure until you embark on your next great escape.
Ringing in a new year has us reflecting on the year we just finished. By far, the most memorable thing we did in 2022 was take our belief in worldwide sourcing very seriously by attending Maison Et Objet in Paris. Maison, the industry nickname, is one of the world’s premier furnishings markets for the Interior Design trade. Simultaneously, "Paris Design Week" takes place. This gets us out and about in the many neighborhoods to be inspired by Paris’ finest in design. Here are our top memories.
My Favorite Finds at Maison et objet
VIP & Friends
This vendor was by far our favorite. We loved the lighting and some clever accessories.
Terracotta Sunset
This color was the standout. We named it Terracotta Sunset. It is earthy and warm!
Blue and Terracotta
Our favorite partner color for terracotta sunset was blue.
Leather Nespresso
We love our little appliances but they can be an eyesore. Why not cover your Nespresso machine with leather?
Color Galore!
The overwhelming statement at Maison was color. This is a montage of what we saw. The color trend in the US is just starting. I do believe it will get bolder over the next few years. These combinations work well as a blend of bold and earthy tones grounds them.

Baby Dolls
I am unsure where this trend came from, but baby doll parts are being used as accessories.
Repurposed Frames
How to make beat-up old frames look great!
Mes Découvertes (Julien Cohen)
After we shot a video here we received several comments about the cool looking throw pillows.

Floral Decor and Floral Storefront
So many bistros and stores had faux floral decor both inside and out. Here are a few great examples.
Les Samaritaines
This department store was beautiful. So much to see other than the merchandise for sale!
Upside Down
So random and so cool. I want to do this for a client!
Cool Kids
Are the Parisian children just born with great style?!
We are grateful for this opportunity… and are still smiling after being on our feet for days. Lauren was a great market companion, and we can’t wait for our next adventure!
