2020 COTY AWARD ORGANIZATIONAL REMODEL WINNER: PANTRY TASTING ROOM

THE STORY
The clients wanted every part of their house finished with color, texture, fabulous light and warmth. Including the pantry!

THE WISH LIST
They needed storage for everything in this catch-all room:
a printer
cleaning supplies
small appliances
the wine collection.
They also wanted to have a staging area for entertaining. Partway into the process, we decided that it should no longer be called a pantry, so it became a tasting room!
FLOOR PLAN BEFORE AND AFTER
BEFORE:
We removed a small broom closet so that the entire space could utilize specialty cabinetry for the storage needs, keeping everything accessible.

AFTER:
On the right , there is a roll-out drawer with an outlet for the printer. A slide-out drawer above it stores paper.
The large two-door cabinet in the center has lighting and outlets so that small appliances can be used in their place of storage. Display cabinets for glassware flank the center of the cabinet.
On the left, the wine cooler is an integrated style to balance the large storage cabinet on the right. This large cabinet holds the vacuum, brooms and mops. The center has storage and a flex work surface for cookbooks, an auxiliary desk and party staging.
THE DESIGN DETAILS
LED tape lights placed vertically along the sides illuminate the display cabinets. Diane Williams, of Art to Di For applied a decorative paint finish to the custom cabinets and walls. An oversized lotus blossom chandelier fills the void in the vaulted ceiling, adding drama in a most functional way. Wire mesh was used instead of glass for a more rustic look to go with the homes farmland atmosphere.

Coordinating the many artisans and trades was complicated, but that’s why our clients chose us. From start to finish, we managed:
