HIGH POINT TREND REPORT PART 5: MUSHROOM MOTIF

Avocados were a millennial favorite and now we all eat them. Who knew Brussels sprouts were such an essential? Now mushrooms are showing up on menus  everywhere, even in coffee.  Could this mushroom motif trend become a home decor trend, too? Elle just called them design’s hottest trend and they were all over High Point, too!

This is the fifth part in a series: The High Point Market is the largest furniture trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina, every six months. I always scout for fresh furniture for my clients and trends to inform my recommendations. For the next few weeks I’ll be sharing spring market trends with you in a series. View the other trends: burnt and charredthe naturalsblack-white-natural, and round and curvilinear.

FUNGI

Decorative jars filled with dried tree fungi provide an alternative to sand and seashells or potpourri.

GARDEN VARIETY

A lovely garden fountain with a little decorative mushroom display in the center.

LAMPS

These metallic mushroom lamps are just two of many styles we saw with this shape at High Point!

RECLAIMED

Even repurposed items were assembled to look like funky mushrooms.

KALALOU SCULPTURE

A tall metal sculpture by Kalalou for a little nook in your home.

CURREY & COMPANY PORCINI TABLE LAMP

I love for every room to have something whimsical. In this Currey & Company Porcini Table Lamp, the mushrooms add a bit of fun to a more serious natural feeling design.

THE ANTIQUES

It seems that this trend was around once before.

WOW!

You do not recognize the cool texture on this vase until you get up close—mini mushrooms!
